Comcast's Management A Comcastrophe?

It appears that disgruntled consumers and consumer rights groups aren't the only ones upset with Comcast:

“Describing Comcast's management and board supervision as a "Comcastrophe" _ playing off its advertising tagline of "Comcastic" _ Chieftain Capital Management Inc. in New York wants better shareholder returns from the cable company.”

Chieftan owns approximately 2% of Comcast, or about 60.5 million shares.  Chieftan has been attempting to get Comcast to change their focus from growth to shareholder return for some time now, and is apparently frustrated with the lack of results.

Wow, that's shortsighted. So, is exponential growth a bad thing for investors now?

wouldnt growth essentially be more share holder return in the long run ? I am not an investor but it seems to me that would be good way to go.. When I see changing focus for share holder return my brain filters it as find more ways to milk money from our customers.
