Bored with Your Browser? Mozilla's Firefox 11 Ships Today

Remember when Firefox releases were a big deal? You wouldn't know it nowadays, but there was a time when browser upgrades were few, far between, and highly anticipated. Like Google did with its Chrome browser, Mozilla has adopted a rapid release schedule for Firefox, taking some of the fun out of looking forward to new builds, though there are occasionally some things to get excited about.

Whether or not Firefox 11 excites you is something you'll have to decide, and you won't have to wait long. In fact, you could have downloaded it as early as yesterday from third-party sites like Major Geeks. It's the final build and not some beta version, though Mozilla plans to roll it to the masses sometime later today. So what's new?

For one, you can now migrate your bookmarks, history, and cookies from Google Chrome in Firefox 11. There's a sync option so that add-ons can be synchronized across computers, and the CSS text-size-adjust property is now supported. Other than those end-user additions, the other changes are mostly of interest to developers and include better HTML5 support and other coding goodies.

Will you be upgrading to Firefox 11, or do you roll with a different browser?

anyone enable SPDY and notice any difference?

about:config,  change network.http.spdy.enabled to true and re-start the fox. try Google's own sites first since they are the most likely to utilize it. I'm not noticing any boost. I use Chrome mostly now anyway. And have the Firefox Nightly at home.
