We recently stepped you through the details of Asus' lower cost Transformer Pad 300 and felt that it was a fine alternative for users looking to save a few pesos. But let's be honest, somebody has to compete with Apple's new iPad and its ultra-high resolution Retina display. Though the Transformer Prime's Super IPS+ display certainly competes in overall brightness and contrast, pixel density of the panel at its native 1280x800 resolution couldn't compete with Apple's super-tight 2048x1536 on the iPad.
Alas the innovation and refinement beat goes on with Asus thankfully, and the all new Transformer Pad Infinity we'll be showcasing here today offers a new 1920x1200 full HD Super IPS+ display to rival the iPad, as well as some goosed-up internals like a faster NVIDIA Tegra 3 4+1 core SoC (System on a Chip), improved camera performance and a few other trimmings...

I don't think you really meant .33 mm. Maybe .33 inch which would be about 8.4 mm? |
Yep, good catch. Correction made. It's .33 inches thin actually, or 8.5mm. The Prime is 8.3mm or roughly .32" thin. |

Champagne purple? Are you sure you didn't mean Pebble Blue because if I recall I thought the colors were Champagne Gold and Pebble Blue... |
This is a bad-azz tablet. Looks like I want it bad,....... |
Well, Asus calls it "purple" in their stock photo shots. I've see it referenced as champagne purple in email correspondence too. Either way, it's not really blue but does have a slight purple-ish tint to the silver finish. |

Any news on cases or covers for this bad boy yet? |
I must admit to wanting one of these, but at the same time I feel a little guilty too after balking at the price of the Surface RT which is about the same price as this Transformer. I don't know why, other than to say this looks sexier to me. |
Actually, the available colors are Champagne Gold and Amethyst Grey. |
Maybe it's just me but I'd like to see a glasses free 3D tablet. ( I mean, a decent Tablet, like this one with Tegra 3). |

CONS: No sim slot for GPRS? thumbs down.! |

I enjoyed the ASUS TF700 Tablet. Well done and supplied additional information that I was looking for. I was most interested in the connection that is available to add a USB port to the tablet itself. I have seen a few things that were made for the TF200, 300, etc. but wanted to make sure that I get one for the 700. I want to easily be able to get a USB port without buying the attaching keyboard. I like my present wireless keyboards that need a USB dongle on it to communicate with the Tablet and the keyboard and mouse. Will likely buy the TF700 shortly. Looks like a good buy. I would like to get one that is Jelly Bean out of the box if possible. |

It's pretty much the best Android tablet out there AND it has the highest resolution of all Android tabs. So what if it's not as high resolution as the iPad? I sure would rather make better use of the pixels by watching true widescreen videos. The tf700 is a good tablet but it's got a few cons as mentioned in http://www.squidoo.com/asus-tf700t |
