For the longest while,
Asus' Eee PC line has remained unchanged. New
models have arrived, but none have looked drastically different than
any that came before it. Recently, the company has been making strides
to change things up, with the Eee PC 1008HA Seashell and this new T91
being exceptionally different. The Eee PC T91 is a convertible tablet
PC, but in miniature form. In fact, it features a screen that's just
8.9", but that screen is touch-friendly.
Naturally, Asus bundles in an array of specially designed software here
to take advantage of the touchscreen. The TouchSuite platform enables
users to touch photos, create photo albums with your hands and leave
yourself desktop memos. The machine is available in black or white, and
unlike many netbooks, this one is equipped with built-in 3G WWAN
technology and a GPS module, making this one of the more connected
machines in the Eee PC line.
The included battery lasts you up to five hours in ideal circumstances,
and the internal TV tuner even lets you catch OTA broadcasts right on
your machine. Other specifications include the Atom Z520 CPU, Ethernet,
Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, 1GB DDR2 RAM, a 16GB SSD, VGA, two USB 2.0
ports, a 3-in-1 multi-format card reader and integrated speakers. Asus
has yet to reveal pricing, but it should ship in America within the
next few months.
