Apple’s iWatch Reportedly Coming To Wrists This Fall

You'd have a better chance navigating a newly constructed minefield a mile long with a blindfold on and emerging unscathed than you would of dodging all the iWatch rumors. The web is rampant with rumors and speculation as to when Apple will release its first smartwatch device, which is no different than a year ago when were discussing the same topic. The reports keep coming in, however, and the latest ones claim Cupertino's wearable device is coming this fall.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Apple will launch multiple versions, all of which will carry the "iWatch" monkier, They'll have more than 10 sensors to track and monitor health and fitness as a way to stand out from smartphones -- Apple's concern is that smartwatches haven't been selling like gangbusters up to this point.

If there's one company that popularize the category, some industry analysts believe it's Apple. The Cupertino outfit has a strong resume when it comes to taking existing products, tweaking them, and then launching to a rabid fan base. Some analysts believe the iWatch will be no different.

"There are lots of gadgets in t his space right now, but there's nothing great out there," Apple CEO Tim Cook said at a conference last year. "There are a lot of problems to solve in this space."

Regardless, Apple remains confident it can be the one to break through in the category. One of Apple's component suppliers said the company expects to ship up to 15 million iWatches this year. To put that into perspective. Apple sold 1.1 million iPhones during the first quarter when it launch seven years ago.
