Apple Feeds Mac OS X Lion Its First Update

For those of you rocking a Mac system with OS X Lion, there's a new update available that fixes a handful of issues. It's actually the first software update for Apple's latest and greatest OS, and it comes just a few weeks after launching OS X Lion. Here's what's included in the 10.7.1 download:
  • Address an issue that may cause the system to become unresponsive when playing a video in Safari
  • Resolve an issue that may cause system audio to stop working when using HDMI or optical out
  • Improve the reliability of Wi-Fi connections
  • Resolve an issue that prevents transfer of your data, settings, and compatible applications to a new Mac running OS X Lion
Apple recommends that all OS X Lion users run out and grab the update, which in addition to the above fixes, it also resolves an issue in which an admin user account could be missing after upgrading to Lion. You can patch your Mac by selecting Software Update from the Apple menu, or manually snatch the update installer here.

If you own a MacBook Air or Mac mini 2011 model, your OS X update is a little bit different and comes with a few additional fixes. In addition to all of the above, your version also addresses the following:
  • Resolve an issue where MacBook Air may boot up when MagSafe Adapter is attached
  • Resolve an issue causing intermittent display flicker on MacBook Air
  • Resolve an issue that causes the SD card slot in Mac mini to run at reduced speed with SD and SDHC
The manual installer for MacBook Air and/or Mac mini 2011 models is here.
