Angry Birds Transformers Now Available For iOS, Android Version Coming Soon

If you're a fan of iconic mash-ups, you'll be interested to know that Angry Birds and Transformers have put in a blender, mixed, and poured into iTunes where you can download Rovio's new Angry Birds Transformers mobile game for your iOS device. Prefer Android? Rovio's planning to release an Android version on Google Play on October 30th and on Amazon on November 4th.

The 1980s vibe is alive and well in the new game, especially the whacky trailers promoting the game. From the old-style cartoon music to the dated visuals, the trailers will take you back in time to when Saturday morning cartoons were still worth watching.

Angry Birds Transformers

As for the game itself, the play mechanics stray from traditional Angry Birds fare. Rather than fling characters across the screen, you'll run, jump, or wheel your way across the side-scrolling landscape.

"Angry Birds and Transformers collide in this action-packed, 3D shoot ‘em up adventure! The EggSpark has transformed the eggs into crazed robots who are destroying Piggy Island, but who can stop them?! Autobirds, ROLL OUT!," the game's description reads.

"Have you ever seen an alien robot Angry Bird? Enter the AUTOBIRDS! This brave band of heroes features Red as Optimus Prime, Chuck as Bumblebee and… well you’ll meet the rest soon. They’ve got lasers and they turn into cars. Plus they have arms and legs – that’s a first!," Rovio continues.

As an added twist, the Autobirds have joined forces with the Deceiptihogs to save Piggy Island. There will be plenty of time for these arch rivals to go back to fighting each other once their home is secure.

If this sounds like your cup of tea, head over to iTunes and grab your free copy.
