Amazon Wins Big With Prime Pilot Season Pulling Down 'Archer' And Other Fox Favorites

Amazon is expanding its original content programming with a slew of new pilots while also nabbing an impressive smattering of existing popular programs that Amazon Prime users can stream.

Thanks to a deal with Twentieth Century Fox, the latter group includes all past episodes of “The Americans”, as well as “How I Met Your Mother”, “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”, “The League”, “Louie”, and “Archer”.

There are five pilots for kids, including one called “Maker Shack Agency” that sounds like something we would have loved as children; it’s a pair of youngsters that “create gadgets to help other kids”. The other kids shows are “Gortimer Gibbon's Life on Normal Street”, “The Jo B. and G. Raff Show”, “Hardboiled Eggheads”, and “Wishenpoof!”.

There’s plenty for the grownups, too. “The After” is a show from the “X-Files”’s Chris Carter--enough said; “Bosch” is a detective show based on Michael Connelly’s books; “Transparent” is a dysfunctional family comedy starring Jeffrey Tambor; “Mozart In The Jungle” is described as “sex, drugs, and classical music”; and “The Rebels” is a comdey about a woman who inherits a football team after her husband dies, which has a whiff of “Weeds” to it if you ask us.

Get on Amazon Prime and stream these programs today.
