Amazon Hiring 50,000 to Support Holiday Shopping Demand

The holiday shopping season is just around the corner, and with it comes a flurry of temporary job openings. Even online companies are looking to bring workers into the fold. Case in point is Amazon, the mega e-tailer with warehouses spread across the nation. Anticipating a busy shopping season, Amazon plans to hire more than 50,000 seasonal employees at its fulfillment centers scattered throughout the U.S., some of which the company anticipates will stay on board permanently.

"Temporary associates play a critical role in meeting increased customer demand during the holiday season, and we expect thousands of temporary associates will stay on full-time positions," said Dave Clark, vice president of Global Customer Fulfillment at Amazon.
