Activision, Blizzard to Merge Into Gaming Giant
Surprising to get news this huge on a Sunday, but here we are. Activision and Blizzard are very successful on their own, and today they announced they would merge to form a company with a rather long name -- Activision Blizzard -- as well as a firm with large aspirations.
Activision and Blizzard have said they will form "the world's most profitable games business" in a deal worth $18.8bn (£9.15bn).
US-based Activision also makes hit console games such as the Tony Hawk series and Guitar Hero.
Nine million people pay a monthly subscription to play World of Warcraft.

I was thinking EA would buy Blizzard as they've bought just about everything else in the gaming world. In fact I think all the companies that make independent games strive to get bought by EA.. |
