Acer Launches Intel-Powered TravelMate P645 And TravelMate X313 Notebooks

Generally, notebook manufacturers aim to release notebooks at two major inflection points: right around the back-to-school season, and at CES each January. Acer, however, is mixing things up a bit as it announces two new lines in the TravelMate range this morning. The first is the TravelMate P645 Ultrabook, which is available with an Intel Core i5 or i7 (Haswell), and two display options: a 1920x1080 IPS HD display with a 2GB AMD Radeon HD 8750M GPU, or a 14-inch (1366x768) with integrated Intel HD graphics.

While geared for business use, it's clearly capable of handling off-duty gaming sessions. That said, the optional ProDock offers up a slew of ports that those stuck in offices will appreciate. It'll ship later this month with a starting price of $949.99.

For those seeking something a bit smaller, there's the TravelMate X313. The 11.6-inch machine offers up six hours of battery life within a 0.39-inch frame that weighs just 1.74-pounds. There's a 3rd-generation Core i5 under the hood, a scratch-resistant screen, brushed aluminum body, and a rugged chassis. It'll ship this month as well, and will also start at $949.99.
