Abit's AV8 Overclocking Dream, Thermaltake PS, Lite-On Dual-Layer DVD and More

Hey folks! It's Friday and most are getting set for a little R&R this weekend. Sadly, that will not be the case with most of the guys here at HH. We've got a lot of hardware to review and I myself have a piece slated for early next week that you're sure to like. So it's going to be busy for us, but that's what we're here for!

Abit's AV8 motherboard @ The Tech Report:

"With all the must-have integrated peripherals, a working AGP/PCI lock, a sub-$110 price tag, and a BIOS laden with tweaking and overclocking options, the AV8 has the potential to be the ultimate Athlon 64 overclocking platform. Let's see if it delivers. "

Thermaltake TWV480 Total Watts Viewer Power Supply @ BigBruin.com:

"Leave it to Thermaltake to come up with some twist to a mundane device like a power supply. Enter the TWV480 Total Watts Viewer, part of the Thermaltake Pure Power Series... Included is a 5-1/4" bay device that monitors the total wattage your system is using and allows you to manually control one of the fans in the supply and the auxiliary fan..."

Liteon SOHW-832S 8x8 Dual Layer DVD /-RW Drive Review @ 3DXtreme.net:

"The Liteon 832S is an 8x DVD burner with 2.4x Dual Layer Burning capabilities. We at 3DXtreme have always been big fans of the products released by Liteon, let's see if the 832S maintains the Liteon tradition and delivers another respectable product."

Panorama factory and the $64-bit Question @ LostCircuits:

"Panoramas created by this application can use a humongous amount of memory in the process and, provided high enough magnification and resolution of the individual source images,
pose a real challenge to any current processor. We have a number of benchmarks to show the performance difference between 32-bit and 64-bit ported versions of the same benchmark, moreover, we take a close look at the issues related to memory address space limitations in a 32-bit or a 64-bit environment that may be somewhat different from the current grain of wisdom and even marketing propaganda."

Time for me to start getting ready for Hurrican Frances. She may be making an appearance here in NC later this weekend!
