Compared to other gaming notebooks with a single video card, two video cards in SLI mode will provide up to a 90% increase in framerates at the highest possible screen resolutions. SLI was designed to increase framerates at resolutions of 1600 x 1200 or greater. Large-screened notebooks with a single video card can struggle at their maximum resolution whereas this notebook has no trouble with current and upcoming game titles.

That must be one massive laptop.

I looked at the Maingear and AVA, I think I would go with AVADIRECT personally. The end product would be basically the same for less, not by a lot but less $ never the less.

Well said!

Not to mention, we are a little obsessed with our testing procedure, so it will be tested like crazy before it ships out to you. :-)

We recently acquired ISO 9001 certification, and became BBB Accredited with a score of A+

This notebook really is the fastest in the world, thanks to the dual GTX 280M GPU's. I couldn't believe my eyes when I first saw this notebook a few months ago when Clevo sent us the first batch of samples. I was really fascinated by the touch-volume control...I know, I'm easily excited by the most simple things in life. :-)

how about the battery life?

+ -

Battery life for the M980NU is about 1 1/2-2 hours.

For the combination of hardware put in this notebook, it's understandable because they draw a lot of power. Though, most people that purchase gaming notebooks do not ordinarily take them to places where an outlet is not accessible.

Plus, you get less performance when running any notebook off of the battery, so enthusiasts find themselves plugging the notebook in as much as possible to squeeze all the performance that they can out of gaming notebooks.

+ -

Looks like a sweet notebook, is that battery life based on full performance, or is that a battery saver mode?

+ -

On battery mode, performance is just about cut in half due to the circuitry in the notebook. During idle, battery life is just at about 1:10. At full load on battery, life is around 0:50. This is due to the fact that Clevo decided not to use the onboard embedded NVidia GPU on the chipset. Rather one GTX 280 is always active all the time.
