A Sneak Peek At Acer's Thin & Light Aspire TimelineX 1830T

I really like my Acer netbook, but I that is a ugly brown in those pictures.

Agreed bob that is an ugly brown , i like my computers silver,black,white or maybe blue or green :P lol, love the size and the i7 they are planning to add :P

I think the style of the netbook is nice, but as you guys mentioned, the brown doesn't look so great.  I'm curious about how strong those hinges are, they look small.

If i didn't look at the size (13.3" and up), I thought it's part of the Aspire One line, it does look really small.

Look at this and look at the Gateway netbook. Which are made by the same company. I bet for one thing the devices used in the gateway at least to some degree will make there way to the Acer side of the company. Not to mention Acer owns the netbook market, and in general the timeline machines have also carved out a little place, and generally get some of the best reviews customer based and professional. Oh and about the brown color I am almost sure this is or will be available in at least 2 or 3 colors as well. The other timelines are available in about 5 I think I looked at one for someone who works with Sarah a month or two ago, and needed a new laptop which they asked me (about getting the best for there price line) for advice on.

OK, I'm still not getting the whole netbook thing? Most cellular companies have been handing out deals on these things, so I don't understand why one would go out and buy one for 3,4,5,6 hundred?

Like I have said before wait till the Ipad revolution starts and we see all the copy cats, like we see with the IPhone. Then maybe it will force these companies to step up their game and lower prices with better features.

About being a Gateway...Yeah...OK...Lets all keep pumping dollars and satiate these companies so they can keep those people in china employed :P

My cellular company didn't mention anything about a netbook deal to me. Which companies in particular are you talking about? Is it only for certain plans?
