"What sets this eBook reader apart from other offerings such as the Kindle or the Sony eBook Reader is its ability to download eBooks over the air using free worldwide wireless connectivity. In the U.S., the DR800SG will use Verizon Wireless' network. A Qualcomm 3G Gobi modem will permit service overseas." Would there be an additional charge for this wireless connectivity? |

After mentions of cheaper, dual screen kindles with internet support this doesn't seem too special. |

This whole technology sector has to mature drastically before I'll adopt it. My daughter showed me her Kindle and I used it for an afternoon and I liked it allot. I almost bought one online too. But her friend had her's stolen from her truck a while back and Amazon would not send a kill/disable signal to that Kindle. They would also not tell her who had re-registered it for use on the Amazon system either. They even require a court order before they will provide ANY information to LAW Enforcement about the stolen device! Most Local police will not go through this much hassle just to recover a 300 dollar device. They told her to just buy another Kindle, she declined. Why buy into such a company's service when they care more about selling subscription service to anybody, no matter what, than they do about their core customers? |
