11-Year Old Astrophysics Fan a College Graduate
His favorite subject: astrophysics. Yep, we pull open astrophysics books every day for casual reading. Cavalin is the only child of a Taiwanese mother and an Israeli father.
To embarrass us still further, Cavalin is also an accomplished martial artist, who has won several national martial arts championships. As opposed to sports figures, his idols are Albert Einstein and Bruce Lee (well, OK, a movie star; what can you expect?).
Now that he's graduated, he's going to slack off a little: in the next six months to a year he's going to take up scuba diving, write a book for kids on how to succeed in school, and work on his martial arts skills. But no video games!
"I feel it's a waste of time playing video games because it's not helping humanity in any way," he said. Ooof, HH readers probably don't appreciate that one too much.

Thats pretty awesome. Some people amaze me. My little brother is autistic and though he has a hard time interacting with people and reading he is a brown belt in karate and has over 500 pokemon cards and he will lay them out and know if one is missing. The human mind works in crazy ways. Not as awesome as this kid I suppose, but he blows my mind with some of the stuff he knows and does everyday. |

Seriously, people aren't meant to graduate at that age. And the thing about video games not helping humanity... The developers get to unleash their creativity and imagination. And we get to 'experience' the past even if it is just a simulation. (Like in WWII games etc.)|
i have to say congrats to this kid as what he did is a great thing but look at his parents heritage and remember one thing was this kid really doing this on his own or was he pushed in some way by his parents as how many 11 year old do you know that are that serious and not just being a child |

I'm sure his parents pushed him, however if he is as smart as he is, they'd be dumb to not push him. I'd disagree that video games don't help humanity. I would say I have learned a lot from video games and computers that others wouldn't have a clue about. |

Rofl, some of these comments are almost commmical. How was he robbed of his childhood he is 11. I am sure his parents pushed him, but if your child has the intellect for this why not. He is now 11 with a degree in college. He cannot legally get a job until he is 15. So he has 4 whole years to do nothing. Then he can go get a real job. The thing is though with a child like this he will probably mess around for a year and then expand his education some more. So by the time he is 16 and old enough to drive he will have a doctorate in something. By the time he is 20 he will most likely have 3-4 years experience to back his doctorate up. Plus the fact is this, he has fun in a different way, and is obviously a very focused individual. How else could he do this and rise to the level he has in Marital arts. Oh wait Marital arts thats me, he excels in Martial arts. |
