3nder App Could Make Threesome Fantasies Come True, Scores $500K Hot VC Injection

Technology sure is grand. With a computer in front of us or a smartphone in hand, we have a world to explore. We can look up recipes to make sure whatever hits the dinner table tonight is delicious, check up on the latest sports news, get some shopping done, keep in touch with family and friends, and of course, seek out interested persons for a quick night of adult fun.

I am sure some can relate to this sad situation: we're sitting on the couch, with candles lit in the background. While sipping on a glass of chardonnay, Elton John's Can You Feel The Love Tonight? plays on the record player and becomes a bit too much - we break down, and weep.

But this is 2015. The number of services out there to help us hook up with someone else are enormous. It doesn't even matter if you think you are too "unique" of a person. There are people out there looking for people just like you. Religious? There are dating services catered to you. Emo? Same. Want someone who also follows a gluten-free diet? You're well taken care of. While many services aim to develop actual relationships, some might just encourage a quick fling. Fortunately enough, there's no shortage of those, either. Tinder lets anyone flip through cards of folks looking to get their freak on, and if you're looking for someone of the same sex, there are solutions for that, too.

With so much opportunity for hooking up, then, it's a little upsetting that there's one area that has been sorely lacking a legitimate service. We're talking the Holy Grail of connections - the ménage à trois.

Well, lack no more. 3nder produces an app called 3nderapp which has just received a $500,000 cash infusion. While an iOS app has been available since last year, the company is now producing an Android version. According to an official tweet, that will be "coming soon" - no double entendre there, I'm sure.

Will people use such a service? Do you even have to ask? Since debuting on iOS last year, it's received over 1 million downloads. Whether you're looking for straight, bisexual, gay, poly- or pansexual hookups, this app was made for you. As long as you're willing to pay the $13/mo fee, that is.

According to the company, nearly a third of accounts created on the service are of couples, and of those, most are millennials. In order to verify a persons' identity, a Facebook account must be linked - something I am sure most users won't feel super confident about given the lesson we learned from Ashley Madison earlier this year.

See? There really is an app for everything.
