That is a VERY nice build!

The forums are about to be flooded again!

awesome!!

I like everything but the PSU, 800 watts is not enough to run that setup with that Video card, but everything else is awesome!!!!!!

It's a quality PSU and it will run that PC without problems. Maybe if you add a second GFX card, you would need more power.

If the PS is such an issue, just upgrade it after you win.

This should be a HOT summer for HotHardware. Good luck to all.

The PSU is sufficient, you don't have to upgrade it at all :)

Many people over power their towers. Even with a second GPU that PSU should be just fine. There always the unless and that is if you plan on overclocking everything in it to the max!

I am running an older setup of  an AMD  PhenomIIx4 980,Asus crosshair V formula motherboard 8gbs of Mushkin Blackline RAM@ 1600MHZ  1 Seagate Barracuda 64mb cache 7200 RPM 1TB HDD, and 1 hd 4850x2, I am using a Rocketfish 1000 Watt peak PSU and it struggles powering this setup with my case fans. My HD 4850 x2 uses 220 watts at max load, the HD 7990 uses 345 watts at max load.

That seems highly unlikely. Unless you have a terrible PSU, that isn't an issue. I know a guy who ran a dual 670 SLI setup on an HX750. He now has a single GTX670 and an AX750. Power won't be an issue with this product.

People saying it isn't enough power are crazy, I'm running an OC'd 3930k CPU and dual OC'd 7970's with an 850 watt. 1000 is good for 3 7970's for sure, you might even be able to do 7990+7970 with the 800W in this build.

Good Luck to everyone on this one. :)

People are saying the PSU wont support the build, that is wrong the PSU is giving a decent 65Amps on the +12V rail, which is more than enought to support this rig without crossfire...and also hats off to hothardware.com to be able to part with such a beautiful system... :D also this rig can be used for intense 3D modelling purposes by using 3D Max 14....

The video card requires a 850W PSU but since it's a quality PSU then 800W should be enough. But, this was built by professionals, don't you think they know what they are doing?

Like another poster said, upgrade the PSU after you win if it's an issue.

Also, a higher quality PSU would only be necessary if you add a couple more GPUs and OC everything.

I can't see how 800 is not enough.

People keep saying they NEED this.. No one needs it; they want it. I mean, who wouldn't want one of the faster computers around. I know my computer is getting slower with age, and cannot do everything I would like it to.. However, an upgrade is a dream.

Honestly, never heard of this site before. They are millions of tech sites, and this one cannot expect everyone to know of it. Its an over saturated market. Hopefully, hothardware sets itself apart from the rest.

The computer I'm posting this from is over 5 years old & on its last legs; it's getting difficult to do mundane tasks efficiently, and I haven't been able to play a current-gen game properly in years. I can't afford to upgrade much less replace it, so winning a PC like this would really make my day! (A shameless beg? Maybe. But at least I'm honest about it.)

Well I want this, but I also do need it... the gaming rig I built over 4 years ago crapped out on me and the laptop that I currently use to connect to the internet (iBook G4) is so old I can't upgrade the OS any further and the OS is so old that I can't get the newest version of any browser to even play videos in facebook posts... PLUS my crazy uncle stuck a mini CD in the slot drive so I can't use that anymore... I do have another desktop though - a tangerine iMac that is still working but old enough that it doesn't recognize my WPA2 wireless security. Oh yea, I also have a PowerBook, but my cat barfed into the back vent when he was a kitten and fried the logic board.

I think the world is telling me something... but I just can't figure out what!

Oh yea... if whoever wins this already has a working PC that can play ESO when it comes out... send your older computer my way! Call it charity and deduct it on your taxes. Geeked
