Apple's Force Touch-Equipped iPhone 6S Pegged For September 9th Debut

A constant in our universe is that no matter the time of year, there's always a number of Apple-related rumors floating about. Over the past couple of months, those rumors have hovered around the company's next iPhone, called iPhone 6S.

The latest tip comes from Buzzfeed, which says its sources peg the unveiling date as September 9th. This time aligns quite well with previous fall launches, so even if this was a mere guess by these pundits, it seems reliable even still.

It's important to note, though, that just because the phone might be revealed that day, it might not actually appear in stores at the same time. Instead, it's more likely that the phone will drop a couple of weeks later.

As we've covered before, this new iPhone is expected to feature Apple's "Force Touch" technology, which can amp up the level of interactivity you can have with your phone - it promises to deliver more useful interaction much like how multi-touch did. We'll have to wait for the event to see exactly what could be done with it.

It's mentioned that Apple will likely show off some other new product, including an updated Apple TV and iPads, although the "iPad Pro" still could be a ways off (if we ever do see it - it seems like we've been hearing about it forever!)

What you can take away from this is: if you are in the market for a new iPhone, you're better off waiting another month, unless you're able to score a current-gen model for a tempting price. Or, unless T-Mobile can succeed at luring you.
