Makes me sick that some people are SO materialistic, they'll sacrifice an entire week out of their life just to sit outside a stupid store. To each their own, I guess... |
Sort of typifies the saying "get a life," doesn't it? Just sad really. |
Maybe Best Buy is doing a sale on "Life"? (haha punny) Seriously 6 days in advance? That's ridiculous. The TV isn't that good of a deal but a PS3 Bundle for $200 isn't bad. But I wouldn't sacrifice a week of my life for it. Life isn't all about the things you have as it SHOULD be the things you do & the people you meet.
While I do admit it can be fun to camp out with some buddies but that's too early. |
You gotta look at it from the people's perspective: They just finished all that time camping out for the last Twilight movie. If they don't immediately start camping for something, they'll come down from their high. |
No, it just means that there will always be self righteous haters who will never understand what others do. They just judge and it makes them feel better. |
Relax Raymac. No one is hating, self-righteous or judging, just expressing a view different than yours. |
This is way too ridiculous, stores are seriously turning Thanksgiving into just another consumerist holiday...rather than it's original emphasis on family. |
Their camping already this should be fun. |
People say those guys out there need to get a job to afford that stuff, or another welfare system, or they have no life, or scum of society. Plain and simple, if the deal was there everyday...Im sure everyone talking trash would jump on it. Since they can't, they resort to trash talking. The reality is mind your F'in business and go do your stupid life's hobbies. I do this every year. I am a aerospace engineer and I make plenty of money to buy the most state of the art TV; but i dont need it. I have a career, and I have unlimited personal time off time whenever I choose. So there idiots, Im getting paid to be there. I meet great people, have a blast partying all night and enjoy a life's urban mountaineering experience. Also, I get the chance to offer a friend or two the deal they wouldnt normally afford. I know all you idiots dont know friends and family that can use a dollar saved. |
Why is it that coming up on the holidays, everyone here starts dropping veiled F-bombs and name-calling? Joel, JDiaz, and I have agreed on... well, basically nothing... but I don't recall us ever treating each other like that. And, if they ever had, I would have known I had 'won' the discussion. Not everyone here has the same opinion; Everyone's welcome to their own view. If you don't agree with what someone else says, that's absolutely fine - just don't start calling people "idiots" and such when you disagree with them. It's much more constructive to point out *why* you disagree. It also makes things easier on those of us that only posted opposing viewpoints to be funny. :P Happy Holidays! |
I don't think anything is really worth camping out for a week ahead of time. You could probably find comparable deals online throughout the year for the same things. |
I wish that I could get enough money to be able to pick up something sweet on black Friday... |
I've been camping at HH over 3 years trying to win a computer, hell, a USB key, a mousepad, throw me a bone here! At least that's SoCal weather, closest U.S. Best Buy for me would be Plattsburgh, NY! (Current temp. 26º, feels like 20º.) Thermal underwear time, methinks... |
$11.90 an hour is pretty good for a job you can sleep on. A lot of people take jobs for less than that and they're sweating 15 min. after punching in. Not everyone makes $100K a year for sitting in an air conditioned office posting pics of their cats to Facebook. "Rhiannon Buckingham" sounds totally made up, BTW. |
I didn't know Best Buy was still around. People actually shop there? |
I don't shop there much myself, but one of the things they do have is Polk Audio speakers, well some of them. Not too many places carry Polks. |
Yes. They sleep there, too :P |
Now these people have dedication. |
I did the Black Friday thing once. Never again. lol |
Lets try and look at this mathematically... 7 days spent waiting, $2,000 dollars saved. It amounts up to about 285 dollars a day saved. If she's waiting there 24 hours a day, she's saving (or technically getting paid) $11.9 an hour. Is $11.9 an hour worth working 7 consecutive 24 hour shifts, and sacrificing the chance to take a break, rest relax and possibly be more productive at a regular high paying job? Not to mention the trade offs of being able to just take advantage of cyber monday or online deals year around without camping out... I'm not sure that's worth it, maybe waiting a day ahead of time which bumps up your number in savings/time considerably could be worth it, but overall I don't think it is. It's also just absolutely ridiculous that certain stores (Target and a few others) are requiring their workers to work on Thanksgiving day since their starting their Black Fridays thanksgiving evening. |
This year is gonna be a blast with so much choice to go around in mobile category. |
I would so do this if I had money to waste |
wow, just wow. I hope they brought lots of sweaters and blankets, brrrrrr! By the way those sneak peak deals are great, however not worth camping out for almost a week LOL I'll stick to Cyber Monday deals, hopefully no sites will crash again ugh. The Source and Staples (in Canada) were terribly SLOOOOOWWWWW |
