Archos Hits The $200 Spot With 8-Inch 80 Xenon Android Tablet
Archos has made a bit of a living out of producing low-end, super affordable gadgets. Namely, audio players and tablets. While they hardly ever impress anyone from a benchmarking standpoint, it's tough to overlook the latest. It's the Archos 80 Xenon, the company's latest and greatest 3G tablet in the Elements range.
It's a 8-inch unit, which goes toe-to-toe with the Galaxy Note 8.0 in that form factor, but at a far cheaper price point. $199.99 (half of the Note 8.0) gets you the following: a quad-core 1.2GHz processor, Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean), an IPS multi-touch panel (1024x768), built-in Wi-Fi + 3G radios, access to the Google Play store, Google Now, a 2MP rear camera and a microSD expansion slot.
Sure, it's not packed to the gills with cutting-edge components, but it's also under $200. Not too shabby for a secondary device to tote around, huh?
