NVIDIA Promises Game Ready Drivers On Or Before Launch For 'The Hottest Titles'

It's a great time to be a gamer, don't you think? Gamers have access to all kinds of awesome technologies, things like 4K displays, blazing fast graphics cards, and G-Sync for smoother game play. There's also a whole bunch of big budget titles in the pipeline this holiday season, and if you're rocking an NVIDIA graphics card, the GPU makers says it will have your back with Game Ready drivers for each and every one of them.

"We introduced our Game Ready drivers program two years ago. Rather than release drivers according to arbitrary timetables, our timelines for drivers are in lockstep with major game releases. When a new game hits, we release a Game Ready driver for that title right before it launches," NVIDIA says.

Having been spoiled with Game Ready drivers for the past couple of year, it's easy to take them for granted. However, there's a lot of work that goes into them. NVIDIA says it takes "careful coordination with developers and precise planning of internal resources" to make the magic happen, and it sometimes requires ironing out bugs at the very last minute.

It's even more impressive when you look at the number of games NVIDIA commits to. Just this holiday season alone, NVIDIA promises to have Game Ready drivers for the following titles (and possibly ones not listed):

  • Assassin's Creed Syndicate
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops III
  • Civilization Online
  • Fallout 4
  • Just Cause 3
  • Monster Hunter Online
  • Overwatch
  • RollerCoaster Tycoon World
  • StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void
  • Star Wars: Battlefront
  • Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege
  • War Thunder

NVIDIA's also planning on awarding out $100,000 in prizes this holiday season. These will go to registered GeForce Experience users and will include games, graphics cards, and SHIELD Android TV set-top boxes.
