Nexus 6 Falls To $349, Marshmallow Soft LG Nexus 5X Reportedly Priced From $399
The Nexus 6 launched nearly a year ago with a price tag of $649. At the time, it was a pretty fair price given the high-end specs that the device shipped with: Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, 3GB RAM, 5.96-inch QHD display, and up to 64GB of internal storage. A year is an eternity in the smartphone world, and some pricing adjustments have been made during the Nexus 6’s life cycle.
The smartphone first had its price deduced by $150, falling to a more palatable $499. And today, that price falls by another $150 to just $349 over at Amazon.com. The new price point puts the Nexus 6 just $50 below its newer, third-generation Moto X Pure sibling. The Moto X Pure features a 5.7-inch QHD display, Snapdragon 808 processor with 3GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage, and a vastly improved camera.
In other Nexus news, it’s being reported that the LG’s 2015 Nexus flagship will arrive on September 29th. The device will likely be called the Nexus 5X, as it is the spiritual successor to the incredibly well received 2013-era Nexus 5.
In addition to an unveil date and probable name selection, Android Authority has learned that the device will carry a price tag of $399 for a 16GB model (who does LG think it is, Apple?) and $449 for the 32GB model. 16GB sure does sound like a pitiful amount of storage for a 2015 flagship, so let’s hope that Google changes in mind between now and when the Nexus 5X is officially unveiled to the public.
For those that need a refresher, the Nexus 5X is expected to carry a 5.2-inch QHD display, a plastic body (available in white, black or blue), a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, and a USB-C port. The Nexus 5X will also, of course, be running Google’s brand new Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system.
