LG V20 Leaked Renders Showcase Dual Cameras, USB-C Port, Potential Modular Design
LG is getting ready to release it's V20 smartphone, a follow-up to the funky V10 device and the first handset on the planet to come sweetened with Android 7.0 Nougat. There's been plenty of leaked information ahead of the phone's planned September 6 unveiling, and now the first batch of renders has started making the rounds, renders that hint at a possible modular design.
One of the things that can be seen in the renders is a button on the right side that looks similar to the module release button found on LG's G5 handset. There's also a bit of a bottom lip that, if not aesthetic purposes, could be indicative of a removable portion, again just like the G5. Or not—there's obviously no word from LG about the V20's design details just yet, and the sources providing early information haven't been able to confirm whether or not it will be a modular device.
There's a sizable hump on the V20's backside to accommodate the phone's rear-facing camera or cameras. The hump widens the V20's waistline at its thickest point to 8.8mm, otherwise it measures 7.7mm the rest of the way, along with being 159.5mm tall 68.1mm wide. That's about the same height as its predecessor, but noticeably narrower.
Not surprisingly the V20 is getting a USB Type-C port in place of a microUSB port. It also looks to have a dual-camera array.
There's been some interesting chatter about the V20's display. While it was assumed it would sport a 5.7-inch (or thereabouts) QHD display, new reports indicate that it might actually be just 1080p, which would be a step backwards from the V10.
The V20 is also expected to wield a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM, 32GB and 64GB storage options, and a 4,000 mAh battery.
