Batman: Arkham Knight PC Interim Patch Coming ’In The Next Few Weeks’

It's a little hard to believe, but it's been nearly two full months since WB yanked Batman: Arkham Knight from store shelves due to the substantial amount of bugs it shipped with. As of the time of writing, sales still haven't resumed.

At the end of June, we learned that WB would be implementing a number of major fixes in the near-future, but it's comical to look back all that way and see that we're still in need of much more work. Today, the company posted on its official forums that a patch will be released shortly that should make the game even more playable.

At the forefront, the patch fixes frame rate hitches and optimizes system RAM and VRAM usage. Finally, you can also change the top-end FPS rate, either between 30, 60, or 90. There are also new toggles for motion blur, chromatic aberration (the purplish edges that can sometimes appear around truly bright edges), as well as film grain. Interestingly, a VRAM usage meter has also been added, which isn't something I'd mind seeing any high-end game including. The full list is as follows:

• Reduced frame rate hitches
• Optimized system memory and VRAM usage
• Improved performance on all GPUs (requires the latest drivers)
• Min Spec AMD GPU is once again the Radeon HD 7870 2GB
• More Robust In-Game Settings, including:
• Added the ability to change settings for Max FPS to 30/60/90
• Added toggles for Motion Blur, Chromatic Aberration, and Film Grain
• Added a “High” Texture Resolution value
• Added Texture Filtering option
• Added an Adaptive V-Sync option (NVIDIA only)
• Added VRAM Usage Meter
• Added Mouse Sensitivity Slider & Mouse Smoothing Option
• Fixed low resolution texture bugs
• Fixed hitches when running on mechanical hard drives (HDD)

WB notes that it still has work to do, and plans to add the ability to skip the splash screens, add Photo Mode, and of course tackle the DLC, which has yet to hit the PC.

Despite where we are today, the game still isn't available for sale, but it seems likely that won't be the case for much longer.
