Badass Fallout 4 Harpoon Gun Unearthed By Resourceful Modder

One thing you won't find in any of the reviews of Fallout 4, including our own, is any mention of a harpoon gun. Nevertheless, it exists, though not in the final version of the game that made it to retail. Apparently it's a weapon that Bethesda's developers created but later scrapped, or maybe it's intended for a future DLC release.

Either way, it's been found by modder xxdeathknight72xx, who dug the weapon up from the game's code. There's a YouTube video that shows the harpoon gun in action, complete with trails of bubbles, a strong indicator that an underwater level was either in the plans at some point or will be in the future.

It replaces the railway gun, if you have it, and comes complete with reload animation. Though it's clearly intended for underwater use, it looks pretty fun to use above ground, too. A morbid sense of humor is required, as it's capable of decapitating an enemy's mug and pinning it to an object. Check it out:

You can download the mod here, though do so with caution. Bethesda warns that mucking with the game using console controls can break saved games.
