Dell Claims Latitude 10 Enhanced Security Tablet Whips iPad in the Enterprise
Although the cool factor of toting around a Dell Latitude 10 tablet pales in comparison to the iPad, Dell believes that when it comes to the workplace, the Latitude is a far better option. In a press release, Dell called its Latitude 10 Enhanced Security tablet “up to 17 times faster and 94 percent less expensive to deploy than iPads in large scale enterprise implementations”.
We’ve already peeped the “Essentials” version of Dell’s business-oriented tablet, but today the company announced the Enhanced Security version which is designed to offer the features most ideal for the enterprise, including Dell Data Protection/Access that uses fingerprint, smart card reader, and third-party security technology; Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 1.2 hardware; Microsoft BitLocker Drive Encryption; Computrace support for tracking a lost or stolen device; and a Noble Lock slot.
The Atom Z2760-based Latitude 10 tablet is available now for $779; the Essentials configuration is available for $579 (64GB) and $499 (32GB).

Dell also announced the Dell Wireless Dock, a WiGig docking station that promises something on the order of ten times the speed of WiFi and connectivity options that include DisplayPort, HDMI, USB 3.0 (x3), and audio in/out. Designed to work with ultrabooks such as the Dell Latitude 6430u, the dock retails for $249.
