Samsung Game Recorder+ Captures Gameplay On Select Galaxy Devices

With the growth of mobile gaming refusing to slow down, and with our mobile devices continuing to become faster and faster, it's about time we began putting all of that extra power to good use. Samsung hears us loud and clear, and has released an app to do just that. It's called Game Recorder+, so it doesn't take much imagination to figure out what it's all about, but it does bring a couple of cool tricks to the table.

Game Recording On Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

At the forefront, and similar to NVIDIA's SHIELD game recorder, users can customize both the bitrate and resolution of recorded video. Afterwards, and with the same app, you'll be able to trim the video to cut off useless slack.

Where this technology becomes really flexible is that it allows you to overlay your face (recorded by the front camera) and also record your audio. It looks like the microphone mute option may only be available on the S6 and S6 Edge, but anyone will have the ability to upload a static profile photo in place of your live face being recorded.

What strikes me as really neat is that touch interactions can also be recorded - perfect if you're trying to explain to someone exactly how a certain part of a game is completed.

Once video is recorded, the app will allow you to upload the footage directly to YouTube; or you could simply keep the video and use it any way you please. Samsung notes that each game will take advantage of "Game Boost", which maximizes memory usage. Further, if you own any Samsung device with Android 4.1 or higher, you should be able to download the Game Recorder+ app and share your gaming memories.
