Call of Duty Developer Infinity Ward Says PC Version of Ghosts Will Have Better Graphics

Tired of crappy console ports that have been lazily transferred over to PC? So are we, which is why we're thrilled Infinity Ward plans to give its upcoming Call of Duty: Ghosts game a bit of additional TLC for Windows. Set to launch on November 5, 2013, Ghosts will be available on Windows, PlayStation 3, Wii U, and Xbox 360, along with the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 when they come out, making it the first Call of Duty game available on next generation consoles. Be that as it may, it will look best on the PC.

Ghosts will be the tenth main installment in the CoD franchise and the sixth developed by Infinity Ward. Previous PC ports by Infinity Ward used the same graphics assets as the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, but this time around, things are different.

"Now, PC has its own set of assets," Mark Rubin, the game's executive producer, told Kotaku in a phone interview. "It's going to look better than any Call of Duty we've ever made on PC."

Rubin's also excited about how much better Ghosts will look on the Xbox One and PS4 compared to current generation consoles, but of the PC edition, he added, "They're actually using an even higher version in many cases than the next-gen consoles, from a texture standpoint."
