'Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End' For PS4 Delayed Until Spring 2016
It looks as though PlayStation 4 gamers will have to wait at least another year before getting to spend some hands-on time with Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, the PS4 exclusive that was initially slated to debut sometime this year. Neil Druckmann, creative director of the game's development studio Naughty Dog, announced in a Sony blog post today that it's delaying the title until Spring 2016.
Druckmann said that as more of the game and story line came together, it became increasingly clear that Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is a more ambitious project than Naughty Dog originally envisioned. As such, the development studio will use the additional months to flesh out the story and get the game's pacing right.
"After spending so many years with Nathan Drake, he means a lot to the team, and telling the climactic chapter of his adventures is a task we don’t take lightly — this game deserves every bit of the attention to detail, precise pacing, and nuanced storytelling Naughty Dog is known for," Druckmann said. "So we’ve made the difficult choice of pushing the game’s release date... Thank you for your patience — we know the extra wait will be excruciating, but you'll see it will be worth it as we reveal more about Uncharted 4 over the next year."

Nathan Drake is the game's protagonist. He's appeared in all four prior games (Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, and Uncharted: Golden Abyss), as well as the motion comic prequel series Uncharted: Eye of India. The character is based in part on Johnny Knoxville and Harrison Ford.
