Toshiba Ships 10.1" NB205 Netbook In USA

Another month, another entrant in the rapidly expanding netbook arena. Believe it or not, the Mini NB205 is actually Toshiba's first-ever netbook to ship to America, and while the company has been shipping miniature notebooks overseas for awhile, it evidently felt the time right to jump on it here in the USA. The Mini NB205 is said to be a "companion PC," but it brings along a full-size keyboard, large touchpad and a battery that can last for nine hours.

As with many other netbooks, this one also features a 10.1" LCD-backlit display, Windows XP and a hard drive impact sensor that guards data from becoming corrupted. Outside of that, Toshiba offers two special configurations. The NB205-N310 includes a stylish textured finish, an accenting chrome hinge and will be available in four metallic color finishes – Sable Brown, Frost White, Indigo Blue and Posh Pink. The NB205-N210 features a Fusion Finish in Black Onyx cover and a sleek, flat keyboard with Black Matte finish.

Both machines will be available later this month for $399 and $349 in order of mention.
