Sprint Bringing Sub-$100 Conquer 4G Smartphone On August 21

With a name like Conquer, it has to be superb...right? Well, that's the message that Sprint's trying to get across with their latest handset, a WiMAX-enabled smartphone that just so happens to be the carrier's 25th 4G-capable device. It's also the first Sprint 4G phone to launch with an on-contract price is under $100, making it even more affordable to hop onboard. Of course, that monthly data plan (and $10 premium data fee) will still nail you 12 times a year, but hey -- who's thinking about payments, right?

The Samsung Conquer 4G will cost just $99.99 with a new two-year service agreement or eligible upgrade and after a $50 mail-in rebate, and will ship with Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), Sprint ID, a 3.5-inch touchscreen, 3.2-megapixel rear-facing camera with flash and zoom and 1.3-megapixel front facing camera. It's a dual-mode 3G/4G device with 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, GPS, a microSD card slot, 1GHz processor, stereo Bluetooth and access to the Android Market. It'll ship on August 21st for those interested -- just in time to be late for your first back-to-school session.
