Samsung's NVIDIA ION-Powered Netbook Pictured

Over the weekend, some rumors surfaced of a Samsung-built, NVIDIA ION powered netbook after a couple of European retailers listed the product on their websites. The pages have since been removed from the aforementioned sites, but we have some more information regarding the system.

While we don't have final confirmation of the model name, specifications, pricing, or a firm ETA, we do have a picture of the machine.

The picture above came directly from a trusted source within one of the companies involved with the design of the system, and is absolutely of Samsung's ION-based netbook.

These specifications could change when the final shipping product officially arrives, but the machine is said to have a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N280 CPU, with 1GB of RAM, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, a 160GB hard drive, an 11.6" display with a resolution of 1366 x 768, and of course the NVIDIA ION processor with GeForce 9400M-series graphics. A 6-cell battery is reportedly included with the system, but no word yet on battery life--although we suspect it will be right in-line or slightly less than the current crop of netbooks depending on the application workload. And USB, HDMI, and VGA outputs are clearly visible in the picture.
