Samsung Unveils Huge Galaxy NotePRO And TabPRO Tablets

It would appear that Samsung aspires to having mobile devices in every conceivable screen size, and not content with traditional size limitations of tablets, the company announced a pair of 12.2-inch tablets called the Galaxy NotePRO and Galaxy TabPRO. The Galaxy TabPro also comes in 10.1 and 8.4-inch configurations.

The 12.2-inch devices offer a 16:10 widescreen orientation and an impressive resolution of 2560x1600, which makes them essentially perfect for watching movies on the go. They also feature the personalized Magazine UX that offers a dashboard with a newsfeed and easy access to your most frequently-accessed apps.

Samsung loaded the tablets up with features such as Multi Window so users can split the screen up into up to 4 windows; Virtual Keyboard for comfortably large typing; Pen Windows, which lets users draw any size window they wish with the S Pen; Remote PC capabilties; and more.

The magazine-sized tablets also come bundled with pre-paid, long-term subscriptions to news outlets, social media, business tools, and cloud storage services.

There will be various iterations of the tablets, including WiFi-only, 3G, and 4G LTE options, but there are two basic configurations for the 12.2-inch NotePRO and TabPro.

The NotePRO runs on a quad-core Samsung Exynos 5 Octa (1.9GHz) processor (or a quad-core Snapdragon 800 [2.3GHz] with the LTE version) and has Android 4.4 KitKat, 3GB of RAM, up to 64GB of internal storage, and 8MP (with autofocus and LED flash) rear and 2MP front cameras. The TabPRO is essentially identical but lacks the S Pen.

The Samsung Galaxy NotePRO and TabPRO tablets will be available worldwide in Q1 2014.
