Samsung Reveals Simplistic Chrono For U.S. Cellular

It's no iPhone killer. In fact, it's not even a smartphone. But these days, in a world seemingly saturated with slate-styled handsets that require a $30/month+ data plan to keep active, it's somewhat refreshing to see a simple alternative that gets back to the basics. For those in need of a phone that does little more than make/receive calls and texts, Samsung is introducing the Chrono with U.S. Cellular. It's a traditional flip-phone, equipped with Bluetooth, basic Web services, an integrated VGA camera, 51MB of internal memory and a dark grey outer shell.

It weighs but 3.14oz., offers a 2.0" QVGA display and touts a battery life of 4.45 hours when talking the entire time. There's no mention of a price, but we're guessing it'll be pretty close to free-on-contract.
