Rumors To Realities: 3G iPhone & Ultra Portable

The pre-MacWorld rumors are always some of the most interesting, but it looks like a few of the rumored products such as sub-notebook and 3G iPhone are virtually done-deals.  The 3G iPhone was actually leaked by AT&T CEO Randal Stephenson, so we're moving that one out the rumor file.  If that's not enough for you, here's more about the ultra-portable

“...he has now heard from manufacturing partners in Asia that Apple is preparing to unveil a new, ultra portable laptop computer at the company's Macworld event next month in San Francisco.

The blogs have speculated about this, but he says he now has hard evidence that the smallest laptop ever from Apple is only weeks away. He says the device will feature a 12-inch screen and will be 50 percent thinner--and lighter--than current versions of the MacBook Pro. He says the product will not have a hard-drive, but rely on Flash memory instead and likely retail for around $1,500.”

At 12 inches the new portable is still not as ultra-portable as the Eee PC running OS X, but I guess having an 'official' Apple machine is probably worth the extra money and size.
