Nokia Introduces Nokia Booklet 3G With Up To 12 Hours Battery Life

Together with AT&T, Best Buy, and Microsoft, Nokia is introducing the Nokia Booklet 3G today. This mini-laptop runs Windows 7 and offers up to 12 hours of battery life. The Intel Atom-powered Nokia Booklet 3G features an ultra-portable aluminum chassis that measures slightly more than two centimeters thick (approximately 0.79 inches). The device weighs less than 2.76 pounds.

To help you stay connected and productive while on the go, the Nokia Booklet 3G offers embedded 3G/ HSPA and Wi-Fi. You'll also find an HDMI port for HD video out, a front facing camera, integrated Bluetooth, and a SD card reader on this device. Other features include a 10.1 inch glass HD-ready display, integrated A-GPS with Ovi Maps, and the latest version of Ovi Suite for synching with a Nokia mobile device.

Initially, the Nokia Booklet 3G will be sold exclusively at Best Buy. It will be available at all Best Buy locations nationwide as well as at the more than 50 Best Buy Mobile standalone stores across the country. The Nokia Booklet 3G will be offered at an introductory price of $299.99 with an AT&T Data Connect plan two-year activation. Expect the mini-notebook to hit stores by mid-November, though Best Buy plans to begin taking preorders online and in stores beginning October 22.

As it does with smartphones, Best Buy will offer its Walk Out Working service for the Nokia Booklet 3G. This free service will help customers activate the device, walk through the Windows 7 OS, and explain extras of the device such as the Ovi Suite, the Ovi Maps gadget, and Bluetooth.

"Our customers are looking for ways to stay connected no matter where they are and we're finding that netbooks and laptops are important companion devices next to the smartphone. The addition of the Nokia Booklet 3G to our stores will only serve to amplify consumer interest in this emerging mobile technology," said Brian J. Dunn, CEO of Best Buy. "As the exclusive retailer through the holidays, Best Buy is uniquely positioned to offer this great product to consumers and ensure they have the knowledge, supporting products and services to use it the minute they leave our stores."
