New Tomb Raider Teaser Tips Up Ahead of E3

Brace yourself for a new Tomb Raider game. After a long hiatus courtesy of developer delays and other bumps in the road, Lara Croft appears ready to once again challenge gamers as the franchise gets a reboot. To help spark excitement among fans of the series, as well as those who perhaps have never played a Tomb Raider title, a teaser trailer has been released ahead of next week's E3 2012 exposition.

The trailer, shown above, is less than a half a minute long and shows "the first shots of gameplay from the upcoming Tomb Raider!," according to the video's description. Originally scheduled to land on store shelves in 2012, Eidos recently announced that it would ship in the first quarter of 2012.

"Our priority now is to make sure we fully deliver the very highest quality game," Eidos said. "We’re doing things that are completely new to Tomb Raider in this game and the additional development time will allow us to put the finishing touches into the game and polish it to a level that you deserve. We believe this is the right choice and I guarantee it will be worth the wait."

A full length trailer will be made available on May 31, 2012 at 10pm PST.
