Microsoft's Surface Tablet RT and Surface Pro to Enjoy Broad International Availability by End of June

Microsoft mentioned weeks ago that its Surface RT and Surface Pro tablets would see wider worldwide available, and now the company has further clarified its rollout plans for its homegrown Windows RT and Windows 8 devices.

The Surface RT tablet is already available in over two dozen markets, including Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Japan, Russia, the UK, the U.S., and a number of European countries, but it will also be available in Malaysia tomorrow, in Mexico at the end of May, and in Korea and Thailand sometime in June.

By contrast, the Surface Pro has only been available in the U.S., Canada, and China, but that’s about to change in a major way. Microsoft says that before the end of May, it will debut the Surface Pro in (take a deep breath) Australia, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.

The tablet is coming to Korea, Malaysia, Russia, Singapore, and Thailand by the end of June, as well.

Microsoft is going to need to launch in as many markets as possible; so far, it hasn’t sold enough of the devices where they’re currently available.
