Microsoft Lumia 550 Entry-Level Windows 10 Mobile Smartphone Plummets To $99

If you're looking for an entry-level handset based running Windows 10 Mobile, just head over to the Microsoft Store and grab yourself a Lumia 550. Microsoft has the unlocked handset marked down to $99, compared to its normal selling price of $139, and you also get a prepaid T-Mobile 3-in-1 SIM kit with 40 minutes of airtime with purchase.

There's nothing to indicate on the Lumia 550's product page that it comes with a SIM kit for T-Mobile, but it will automatically appear once you add the phone to your cart. That's a $40 value by itself, and provided you're planing to activate with T-Mobile anyway, it works out to $179 worth of product and services for a buck shy of a Benjamin. Not too shabby.

Lumia 550

The Lumia 550 came out at the end of last year. It has a 4.7-inch HD (1270x720) display powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 quad-core System-on-Chip (SoC) clocked at 1.1GHz with an Adreno 304 GPU and 1GB of RAM. The phone also features 8GB of built-in storage expandable via microSD, 2-megapixel front-facing camera, 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with auto-focus and LED flash, 802.11n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.1 connectivity, 4G LTE radio, and a removable 2,100 mAh battery that's good for up to 12 hours of talk time.

Obviously this isn't a powerhouse by any means, and the Windows 10 Mobile platform isn't super popular at the moment (understatement). But if you're looking for a low-cost entry into the world of Windows 10 Mobile, it's not a bad deal. You can pounce on it by going here.
