Microsoft Details Surface RT And Surface Pro Global Expansion

To date, Microsoft still hasn't released any public figures on how many Surface units have been sold, but if you're one of the holdouts across the pond, there's good news. This week, Microsoft announced that "worldwide customer response to both Surface RT with Windows RT and Surface Pro with Windows 8 Pro has been exciting to see," and while that's obviously vague, here's something that is less so: starting later this month, the Surface is going to go on sale in more markets. In addition to its current availability, in the coming months Surface RT will be available in Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Russia, Singapore and Taiwan.

Moreover, the Surface Pro will be heading to Australia, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, New Zealand and the United Kingdom in the coming months. The company made clear that it's still trying to meet demand in existing markets, and they're "working super hard to get new inventory into retail but recognize demand exists in other countries as well."

Ready or not, the Surface is about to land in some new regions real soon.
