Limited Time Offer: Buy A Diamond Radeon R9 295X2, Get A Free 500GB Samsung 840 EVO

When AMD launched its Radeon R9 295X2, we praised the GPUs performance and its impressive water liquid cooling system, but noted that the price, at $1500, was quite high -- even given these positive characteristics. AMD's Never Settle Forever bundle helps to sweeten the deal, since it's worth about $150 at retail value, but it's not necessarily a deciding factor when the card is this expensive.

Now, NewEgg has found a way to sweeten the deal a bit more, though it's a limited time offer. Buy an R9 295X2 from Diamond at NewEgg, and you'll score yourself a 500GB Samsung 840 EVO SSD besides. Other vendors are pairing with different SSDs, but the 840 Evo is the sweet spot for this deal.

The 840 EVO is Samsung's consumer drive that pairs consumer-level TLC NAND with a small slice of enterprise-class SLC NAND. The two act to buffer each other -- SLC NAND is incredibly expensive but very fast and extremely durable, while the TLC NAND has lower overall durability and performance but is much cheaper. Put the two together, and you've got a consumer drive that should last as long as other MLC products but offers some of the best performance we've measured to date.

Even the new 850 Pro, with its fancy 3D NAND, doesn't leave the 840 EVO hanging -- this is a solid drive  Obviously $1500 purchases aren't spur-of-the-moment decisions, whether you need a new SSD or not, but if you were on the fence before, a sweet 500GB SSD might be enough to tip things over.
