Images And Specs For HP’s webOS Tablet Surface

We knew HP was working on a webOS tablet, but now, pictures and additional specifications have emerged. Although the official announcement for HP’s webOS tablet is expected on February 9, a “trusted tipster” has provided Engadget with images as well as specs.

In looking at the photos, the upcoming 9-inch tablet, code-named Topaz as well as the 7-inch version known as Opal, are looking pretty stunning. Both tablets are said to have a no-button design, similar to what we’ve seen from other upcoming tablets such as the Motorola Xoom and the BlackBerry Playbook. The tablets are also expected to have front-facing cameras and microUSB ports. Reports also claim you can also expect a trio of built-in speakers (two on the left and a third on the right), providing stereo sound.

Rumor has it the tablets will be launched in September of this year. The Opal tablet is expected to be available in Wi-Fi only, AT&T 3G, and Verizon Wireless LTE versions. AT&T is expected to offer a version for its LTE network sometime mid-next year.
