HTC's Windows Phone 7-Based HD7 Impresses: Video Demo

HTC let fly with their Windows Phone 7 lineup a month or so ago but to date we haven't gotten much in the way of hands-on time with the devices.  Monday night in NYC, home of yet another disappointed New York Jets team (Go Pats), we got a little up close and personal with HTC's sexy new HD7 smartphone.  The HD7 is currently offered on T-Mobile, it has a 4.3-inch super AMOLED display, 1GHz Qualcomm QSD 8250 processor, 5MP camera and a kick-stand.  You heard us correctly, a kickstand - got a problem with that?  We didn't think so.

Regardless, what's perhaps more impressive is how responsive and easy to use this sleek little minx is, with Windows Phone 7 offering a UI experience that we'd dare say should give iOS a run for its money as it matures.  The first thing that comes to mind, when you see a Win Phone 7 device in action, is how "surface-ready" various primary functions and features are.  Yes, we're coining a new tech term here perhaps but in other words, it seems like you just have much less drill-down to deal with in Microsoft's new handset OS.  App access and navigation seems that much more simplified and streamlined.  See for yourself and excuse the purple-blue hue in our on-scene video.  Manhattan and Microsoft generally means mood-lighting, whether you like it or not...
