HP Envy 14 Spectre Ultrabook Now Available to Order

You can only tease so long before it's time to put up or shut up, and after creating a bit of buzz over its glass-covered Envy 14 Spectre laptop with sneak peeks dating back to before CES, Hewlett-Packard has made its newest Ultrabook available to purchase online starting at $1,400.

That's well above the sub-$1,000 price point Intel would like to see Ultrabook models check in at, though not grossly overpriced for a higher end model. A base configuration comes with:
  • Intel Core i5 2467M processor
  • 4GB of DDR3-1333 memory
  • 128GB solid state drive
  • 4-cell battery
  • 14-inch diagonal display shoved into a 13.3-inch form factor
  • Webcam
  • Backlit keyboard
  • 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi; Bluetooth

The Envy 14 Spectre also features a USB 3.0 port, 2-in-1 memory card reader, mini-DisplayPort, HDMI port, and HP's Beats Audio technology, which made a world of difference on the HP TouchSmart 520 all-in-one (AIO) PC we recently reviewed.
