Hexxeh Creates (Free!) Firmware Update Tool for Raspberry Pi
A dev named Hexxeh got so tired of having to do this that he made his own firmware update tool to do it for him called rpi-updater. Because he’s a good open sourcer, Hexxeh has made the tool freely available to all users, and despite his disclaimer that rpi-updater is “rather experimental”, the Raspberry Pi folks think highly enough about it to link to the tool on their own website.
You can download the tool and grab instructions here, if you’re one of the lucky ducks who already has a Pi in hand. Deliveries have been delayed, but the Raspberry Pi team assured users today that everyone who registered for a Raspberry Pi before the launch date of February 29th, 2012 will be able to actually order their device in the next 7-10 days. 75,000 units will be shipped over the next month and a half, and the online Raspberry Pi store is slated to open next week.
