Galaxy Nexus Ad Appears, Suggests $199.99 Price Tag

A Verizon Wireless ad for the Galaxy Nexus has appeared in various locations around the web. This ad suggests the Galaxy Nexus, which will be the first phone to feature Android 4.0, could be available for $199.99, which is $100 less than some of Verizon Wireless’ other high-end smartphones.

After clicking on the Learn More button, users are taken to a promotional page for Verizon Wireless that does not list the Galaxy Nexus. It’s hard to say if this price on the ad is a long-time deal or if it will be a special holiday promotion. The ad does appear to be legit however, since it’s appeared at various sites around the web. The ads are run by NetShelter, a premium advertising network that works directly with carriers and manufacturers.

By taking a closer look at the Learn More url in the ad, users may notice a tag that includes “111129-HOLIDAYSAMSUNG” which has led some people to wonder if the phone could launch on 11/29. Unfortunately since nothing has been officially confirmed or announced by Samsung or Verizon Wireless, only time will tell if this ad is a hint of the price and/or release date for the Galaxy Nexus.
