Dell Introduces Two New AMD Based Systems

Dell has finally introduced two new AMD desktops. First up is the Dimension C521 which is is based on an nForce 430 socket AM2 platform with support for AMD Sempron, Athlon 64, and Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core CPU's.  Graphics will be driven by an integrated NVIDIA GeForce 6150 LE GPU with an option to upgrade to an ATI Radeon x1300 128MB or x1300 Pro 256MB video card through either the 1 x PCI, 1 x PCIe x1 or 1 x PCIe x16 slots.  Memory support includes 4 x DDR2 slots available with support up to 4GB of 533Mhz memory and 1 x SATA-II internal hard drive with support up to 320GB.   Audio will be provided via integrated 7.1 surround sound and an integrated 10/100 network adapter tops it off.  The chasis design includes support for 2 x 3.5" Bays (one external; one internal), 1 x 5.25" external bay, and a 280W power supply.

 Next up is the Dimension E521 which shares many of the same specifications as the C521 but comes in a larger chasis with 3 x 3.5" Bays (one external; two internal), 2 x 5.25" bays and is driven by a larger 305W power supply.  In addition, another PCI slot has been added and a Sound Blaster X-FiTM XtremeMusic with Dolby 5.1 is provided as an alternative to the integrated audio as well as an NVIDIA Geforce 7300LE TurboCache 256MB graphic option.  

Pricing is expected to start at $329 for the E521 and $359 for the C521.
