Catalyst 5.2 Performance, Arctic Cooling Silentium T2 Case, and more!

Hey folks, it's kind of late but there's news in the box and I'm here to deliver it. For those if you wanting to see a performance review of the new Catalyst drivers(5.2), tweaktown has sent us a link to their review. If your currently into Half-Life 2, you might want to check it out before you upgrade your driver. Oh, and a forum member, Laggerzero, mentioned to me that the KDE desktop environment for Linux will be ported to Windows, click here for more details. Anyway, here's the news...

Zalman VF700-AlCu VGA Cooler @ A True Review

"While the majority of the CPU cooler market has embraced incorporating heat pipes into their coolers, Zalman has found a great deal of success with its zero heatpipe CFPS7 series of oversized bowl shaped CPU coolers. They offer very quiet, albeit not supreme, cooling performance. Now, Zalman has applied the same oversized heatsink and fan cooler design into a cooler that cools the second hottest chip in a computer system, the video card's GPU (graphics processing unit). Introducing the Zalman VF700-AlCu VGA cooler."

ATI Catalyst 5.2 Performance Analysis @ Tweaktown

"Recently ATI released a new set of their monthly Catalyst drivers for their Radeon line of graphics cards. The new version is 5.2 and they promise a whole bunch of bug fixes and performance increases. We examine the new drivers in our usual array of benchmarks and come up with an answer if they are worth the upgrade or not."

Corsair TWIN2X1024-4300C3PRO @ Viper Lair

"Unless you're planning to heavily overclock your ram or system, high frequency DDR2 kits are a bit of a waste of money considering their conservative timings. The 4300C3PRO is fully suited for overclocking, and so long as you stay at around DDR2-667 and lower, the lower latencies will make a bigger impact on performance."

Arctic Cooling Silentium T2 ATX Case @ Bigbruin

"Out back you will get your first glimpse of what makes this case unique. While at the top of the case you see two fan grills, this is not for the power supply. If you look closely, you will notice the plug for the power supply is at the bottom of the case, but there are no fans down there. This is because the power supply is not at the back of the case, but rather at the front."

Coolermaster Praetorian 731 Case Review @ Madshrimps

"We take a closer look at one of the latest full tower cases coming from the widely known Coolermaster farm. The Praetorian product line has been around for some time now, providing a high quality finish with easy installation features and good case cooling. Does the new "731" continue this tradition?"
