ASUS MeMO Pad 7 LTE Android Tablet Arrives April 10 As AT&T Exclusive

ASUS is beefing up its U.S. mobile product portfolio with the introduction of the MeMO Pad 7 LTE on AT&T’s wireless network. The tablet will first be available exclusively to AT&T customers via att.com or AT&T retail stores starting April 10.

The tablet is powered by a 1.3GHz, quad-core Intel Atom processor, features a 7-inch (1280x800) IPS display, comes with 16GB of storage (an additional 64GB is supported via its microSD slot), and as its name implies has LTE connectivity. Unfortunately, the device comes out of the box running Android 4.4.4 KitKat instead of Android 5.x Lollipop — let’s just hope that ASUS and AT&T band together to release a Lollipop update later down the road.

Specs wise, the ASUS MeMO Pad 7 LTE will be doing battle with the iPad Mini LTE, Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, and the LG G Pad 7.0 LTE for the attention of AT&T customers. AT&T customers will be able to pick up the tablet for $0.99 if they purchase a smartphone using AT&T Next. Alternatively, you can purchase the tablet by itself $8.75 per month for 20 months using AT&T’s Tablet Installment plan or pay just $74.99 with a new, two-year contract. That pricing makes it a few bucks cheaper than the aforementioned LTE tablets from Samsung and LG.

You can also go the prepaid GoPhone route and acquire the ASUS MeMO Pad 7 LTE in AT&T stores for $174.99 off-contract. You can select from 2GB, 5GB, and 8GB plans for $25/month, $50/month, and $75/month respectively.
